WP 4 uses cohort data combined with data from large-scale European longitudinal studies to estimate how variations across cities in mental health and cognitive outcomes relate to urban environments, and how they impact on co-morbidities.

Objectives

  1. To assess geographical variation in levels of mental health and cognitive outcomes between and within European cities using survey data with detailed assessments
  2. To examine the extent to which prevalence and levels of mental health and cognitive outcomes are associated with macro-level (city-wide) and micro-level (within city small areas) urban characteristics
  3. To assess whether geographical distribution of mental health outcomes and impaired cognition is associated with distribution of co-morbidity rates and mortality rates.
